The Primary Objective of  the Cyber Society of India is to contribute towards the Education, Employment and Harmonious development of the Cyber Society.

The Society is developing several programmes to meet these objectives.

The activities of CySi will be developed into several windows such as

a) Cyber Society Regulation

b) Cyber Society Communication

c) E-Governance

d) E-Entrepreneurship

e) E-Education

Specific projects under each of the above categories are under development and members are invited to send suggestions in this regard.

Some of the immediate activities proposed to be undertaken by the Society are

Activities under Cyber Society Regulation Window: (Coordinator: Naavi)

1. Conducting In-House Programmes for IT and Non IT Companies on the following themes.

    a) Cyber Laws and their Impact on Business

    b) Cyber Crimes and Corporate Responsibilities

    c) Due Diligence and Cyber Law Compliance Programmes

    d) Digital Signatures and How to Use Them

The Programmes would be conducted at different levels as per the requirements of the audience

i) Foundation Level Lectures : 90 Minute

ii) Half day Workshop : 3 to 4 hours

iii) Full day Workshop : 6 hours

2. Providing Virtual Courses in Cyber Law in association with Cyber Law College

Course I : Certificate in Cyber Laws, 4 months duration, Total Cost inclusive of  Student membership  Rs 3000/-. (P.S: Domestic students can obtain a hard copy of the course material for an additional charge of Rs 1000)

3. Providing CyLawCom Certification for Cyber Cafes and Web Publishers

CyLawCom Certification for Cyber Cafes: This is a service to audit certify Cyber Cafes from the point of view of the level of Cyber law Compliance measures taken by them. The Certificate is provided on the basis of a process developed by Cyber Law College and audit conducted by trained CyLawCom examiners. It is issued in three levels namely, Level 1, indicating " Benchmark Cyber Law Awareness Reached", Level 2, indicating "Benchmark Cyber Law Compliance Implementation Reached" and Level 3, indicating "Bench Mark Continued level of Voluntary CyLawCom compliance reached". The Certification of level 2 will result in the issue of a Certificate "CySi Certified E-Bridge Center" for display at the Cyber Cafe.

CyLawCom Certification for Web Publishers: This is a service to audit certify Web Publishers including personal websites, Blogs, e-Groups etc from the point of view of the level of Cyber law Compliance measures taken by the owners/publishers. The Certificate is provided on the basis of a process developed by Cyber Law College and a virtual audit conducted by trained CyLawCom examiners. It is issued in three levels namely, Level 1, indicating " Benchmark Cyber Law Awareness Reached", Level 2, indicating "Benchmark Cyber Law Compliance Implementation Reached" and Level 3, indicating "Bench Mark Continued level of Voluntary CyLawCom compliance reached". The Certification of level 2 will result in the issue of a Certificate "CySi Certified CyLawCom Publisher" for display on the Site/Blog/Group.

Activities under Cyber Society Communication Window: (Coordinator: K.Srinivasan)

1. Conducting In-Company Workshops on Soft Skills by Prime Point Foundation

2. Publication of a "CySi Journal" with contributions from Students of Engineering, Management, Law and Undergraduate Science and Arts Colleges on various aspects related to the Cyber Society and provision of recognition for exceptional talents exhibited.

Activities under E-Education Window: (Coordinator: To be appointed)

1. Providing guidance for project activities of select students in the areas relevant to Cyber Society such as IPR in Cyber Society, Internet Regulation, Data Protection Law, e-Governance issues etc.

2.Conducting Workshops for Engineering and other College students under the EPEP (Employment Potential Enhancement Programme)

3. Maintenance of a Skill database of student members on the website of CySI and recommending deserving meritorious students for placement

Web Publisher Sub Group

In order to address the requirements of Cyber Publishers, it sub group under CySi is being formed of members who are engaged in web publishing activities. All members who maintain news oriented websites and Blogs shall be part of  this group. The group which will be called "CySi-Web Publishers" will be coordinated by Mr K.Srinivasan.

In the post Bazee incident scenario, it is envisaged that Bloggers and Web publishers need to be collectively represented and also guided for Safe publishing Practices. This group will identify such practices and ensure Cyber Law Compliance amongst this New Media Owners.
