CySI's Programme for Student Members
Employment Potential Enhancement Programme-EPEP
Increasing competition in the employment market and rapid growth of technology creates a "Employability Divide" between students who pass out of the academic institutions and the requirements of the industry.
Only the top outstanding students who graduate each year are therefore able to get campus placements or go abroad for higher studies while many in the bottom end up taking jobs competing with other non technical graduates or remain jobless. The problem is more acute for students in remote places where the job hunters are reluctant to reach out.
It has therefore become the responsibility of the colleges to undertake steps necessary to improve the employability of the students.
Cyber Society of India which has been formed with the objective of promoting Education and Employment in the Cyber Space domain has structured a systematic plan of action namely EPEP, meant to enhance the employment potential of the Engineering students and increase their probability of employment immediately after graduation and increasing the average compensation level at the time of placements.
The principle objective of EPEP is Bridging the Industry-Academia gap to make the students appreciate the improvements required in his subject knowledge to the levels required by the industry.
The requirements for this module have to be drawn up with reference to the developments in the particular subject that have taken place in the last 2 years since such developments cannot be brought into the curriculum.
It must be appreciated that this would only be an attempt to sensitize the students to specific developments and will not be able to make them masters in the subject. Also there will be need to create different streams of knowledge which students of different branches can take up.
Presently two modules of EPEP will be available namely
a) Techno Legal Information Security Module (TLISM)
The programme will be coordinated by Cyber Law College the constituent of CySI.
b) Effective Communication Skills Module (ECSM)
