Anything starting with "Model" belongs to me!..Says Ford
. Ms Kathleen Vokes, spokesperson of Ford Motor Company has stated that Ford has a history  of using the nomenclature beginning with the word 'Model' and then followed by  a letter, creating a copyright on such usage.

This claim has been made in a law suit filed against an Internet startup compay-Model E Corp in a Michigan federal court. It is alleged that the name is too close to its famous Model-T car. Ford also claims that it has filed a trademark application for Model E four months before the new company and intends to use it for its "Internal Program to distribute computers to all its employees".

Ford is seeking all profits derived from the use of the name, unspecified damages and payment of its legal fees, from Model E Corp besides desisting from using it in future.

Model E-Corp is in the business of Car leasing and has stated that there is no merit in the Ford claim. The market observers predict an out of court settlement.

This case takes the domain name disputes to a higher level. If we agree that Ford does have a copyright on Model-T, should we also presume that they have a right on Model-E? Can I have the views of the readers on this issue?
