 Cyber Law Awareness and Compliance

 By

Naavi,

 Director, Cyber Law College

At Hotel Leela Palace   Bangalore on April 22, 2005

After the arrest of the CEO of Bazee.com in connection with an offence under Section 67 of Information Technology Act 2000, the Indian Corporate World has been rudely awakened to the realities of a Cyber Law regulated Digital World.

While a section of the Industry is working on bringing modifications to the Act, most are trying to find ways and means of reducing the Cyber Law Related Risks to the Business and the Professional Workforce.

Naavi has been a pioneer in promoting the  concept of Cyber Law Compliance as a means of securing Business in the Digital Era. Cyber Law College founded by Naavi conducts virtual courses on Cyber Law and Techno Legal Cyber Security to create skill sets required for assessing Cyber Law Risks in business and implementing strategies of mitigating the Risks.

The other Guest Speakers who have confirmed their participation include Mr Pavan Duggal of Delhi, a Supreme Court Lawyer and well known exponent of Cyber Law, Mr Praveen Dalal, a High Court  Lawyer from Delhi, an young professional with in-depth understanding of Cyber Law and Ms Nappinai, a High Court Advocate from Mumbai, actively involved in Cyber Law related aspects.

Quite often the IT industry neglects Cyber Laws as irrelevant to their Business goals. But Naavi strongly opines that “Those who think Cyber Laws are for Lawyers to fight in a Court of Law, may be long dead before the Lawyers start arguing.”. According to Naavi, “Security is no Security without Techno Legal Security”.
