Ireland Exit with a Crushing Defeat
Sri Lanka made a mince meat of Ireland crushing them by 8 wickets with 40 overs to spare. After dismissing Ireland for a mere 77, Sri Lanka raced to victory in just 10 overs to complete the formalities.
Maharoof and Murali both got 4 wickets each though Maharoof emerged the NCR Hero of the day. N Obrien was the villain of the day.
Jayasuriya has temporarliy regained the top spot in the NCR table though Scott Styris is just behind him and with a match on hand. Barring unforeseen circumstances, it appears that Scott Styris would be the NCR Hero at the pre-semifinals stage.
