Heros and Villains...17

Andrew Flintoff Fires at last

The 17th day of the Cricket World Cup 2007 sported one of the less consequential matches between England and Ireland. As expeced, England won the match to retain their chances for entering the semi finals.

After a long time, Andrew Flintoff put up a good performance to emerge as the NCR hero of the match. He notched up 64 points as against his nearest rival N Obrien who collected 61 points. Flintoffs points were collected from 4 wickets, 43 runs and a catch. On the other hand Obrien scored 63 runs and took two catches.

But Obrien's performance was good enough to nudge into the top 10 players edging Ponting out of the top 10 table.

I R Bell of England had the dubious distinction of being the NCR Villain of the day with -5 points.

At this stage of the tournament, there are 12 players with negative scores holding the ranks 124 to 134 of all the players who have participated. This list contains only Nafees of Bangladesh at -1 as a player from the team which is in super eight. The list of these  players is  as follows.
