Hayden Jumps Ahead in NCR race in the Half Finished Match
The Super eight stage of the Cricket world cup started on 27th March (14th day) after a day of rest. The first match between Australia and West Indies started with Mathew Hayden scoring a blistering 158 in 143 balls to take Australia to an imposing total of 322. This innings will take Hayden to a tally of 344 NCR points well ahead of the current leader Gream Smith. The rain interruption has pushed the match to the second day.
Today West Indies will continue the match and Bravo is the nearest contender for the top spot. He has already scored 41 NCR points for his bowling and raised his tally to 218 which will put him in the second spot behind Hayden. He also has an opportunity to score the batting points as well.
Today South Africal will also take the field against Sri Lanka and unless Smith also scores an above par century in today's match against Sri Lanka, it will be difficult for him to retain his leadership.
