Thailand Passes Electronic Transactions Law

.

Thailand is all set to become the next country to pass legislation on Electronic Commerce similar to the Indian Information Technology Act 2000. After  two long years since the first draft, the Parliament has recently passed the final version which is set to become law from April 3, 2002 after the mandatory assent from the King.

The law is based on the UNCITRAL Model law and has provisions similar to that of ITA-2000.

A more detailed analysis is kept pending since the law has been enacted in the local language and an official English version is still not available.
